Ian Haug

IMG_8528Having co-founded Australian rock band Powderfinger in 1989, and continuing on as lead guitarist and vocalist with the seminal group for over 20 years, Ian Haug has brought his expertise and craftsmanship to the church, joining the band in late 2013.

Ian’s Powderfinger roots saw immense acclaim and achievement, including 18 ARIA Award wins from 47 career-length nominations, five number one Australian albums, and consecutive #1 hits on Triple J’s Hottest 100 lists (1999 and 2000).

Bringing a “joyous energy” to the church, Ian has integrated “seamlessly” (http://smellslikeinfinitesadness.com/the-church-furtherdeeper-review/) to the swirling and psychedelic outfit, as his Further/Deeper debut has brought excitement to fans, critics, and industry insiders alike.

Ian has also performed in bands including Far Out Corporation (with Grant McLennan), and The Predators, whilst too owning and operating his own recording studio (Airlock Studios).
